Daily Musings — 31st March 2017
The end of the week is always boring.
My closest university friends all live quite far away or work full shifts. Football used to make the weekends enjoyable but our owners have broken that. It is weird I start the week bored because the weekend was boring, by the end, I’m having fun, then the boring weekend starts again.
It’s a vicious never ending cycle. Well, not particularly vicious. I’m going to offset that by doing freelance interviews, do check them out as I do them, because they’ll all be with quirky characters.
We might also visit the greyhound racing in Romford.
Mentioning it, a few people are surprised that greyhound racing still exists in this country. I don’t see why. Horse racing is deemed perfectly acceptable, at least greyhounds aren’t whipped. People often criticise people in other countries for eating animals that we wouldn’t in the West. I’m vegetarian, I found it hypocritical that people are up in arms about eating dogs and whales, when they’ll gladly munch into a beef burger or fried chicken. There’s no difference.
I would admit the brutal slaughter such as China’s Yulin is horrible, but is the core issue really any different.
I still play Football Manager 2011. It’s my favourite FM.
I’ve only just noticed the Peruvian league is playable. I love Peru. A close friend of mine is Peruvian and her love of her country is contagious. I also now consider Universitario de Deportes, one of my second clubs. They play good football, their rivalry with Allianza Lima is intense. Their fans are passionate and they are active in the wider community, very similar to West Ham, they might be promoted to my first team if the situation gets worse.
I get more excited with away games I don’t go to then the home ones I do go to.
Have a nice weekend, folks. ❤
