Can the media outlets stop reporting every detail of the Westminster attacker’s life?
Not only do I know the guy’s name, his birth name, I know most of his life story because of how it’s being constantly reported on the news cycle. This man should be a nobody. Giving him so much attention is just wrong. He probably died knowing people will know his name. Don’t give him what he wants.
The moniker “Jihadi John” made Emwazi sound like some sort of comic book character. It was wrong for the British press to use it. It almost romanticized his actions. Don’t give these men airtime.
Don’t react to it in anyway. Keep going. I heard someone say: “If it was up to me, I’d arrest all the Muslims in London”. Now that is just stupid. One, it will divide our communities further. Two, it is extra-judiciary which is a really bad indicator of how not free we are. Three, it is discriminatory. Could not believe what I was hearing.
The majority of people including Londoners have reacted as though nothing has happened and continued their daily lives like normal, like they should.
I’m sure people have seen Seamus Coleman’s injury. Coleman has always come across to me in interviews and on the pitch as a very humble lad and a likeable figure. I wish him a speedy recovery. I don’t think Neil Taylor meant it. He mistimed his tackle and these things happen. Props to Shane Long for his reaction.
Gareth Bale’s tackle on John O’Shea, however, I think he was lucky to get away with that one.
Home Secretary Amber Rudd has accused WhatsApp of giving terrorists a place to hide.
WhatsApp should not have to hand government’s back door access to severs. Yes, you have probably have nothing to worry about if you’ve done no wrong. But the greatest shame of the Conservative and Unionist Party since I’ve been politically aware, is their stance on this.
Freedom should not be eroded. Besides who decides what is right and wrong? What if there’s a government leak? Terrorists will find another way to communicate.
I’ll have to disagree with Miss Rudd on this one.
