So last night, a friend, who shall remain anonymous told me that they were feeling depressed.

I offered some advice but they had gone offline, and hasn’t resurfaced since, meaning I’m starting to worry now.

Now the advice I gave were all things I’ve mentioned in various musings over the last week and a half. I think this was more out of accident than design. I just write about what I feel like writing about on the day. But the point I told this friend is to keep busy, do things you enjoy with people you enjoy doing things with, go for walks, talk about it. The worst thing to do is to sit at home doing nothing about it. If you can try and see a doctor about it too. Also don’t keep it bottled up, do something about it.

I’m also having trouble with ideas for a feature. I have had a few ideas, but in all honestly getting the contacts and interviews I need is probably too unrealistic and a waste of time and resources. I’m not entirely sure if there are enough points for me to make, which is rather annoying. But I guess that’s the plus of living in London, there’s always stories if you know where to look.

Also, Logan comes out this week. Not only will it be Hugh Jackman’s last appearance as Wolverine, it will be Sir Patrick Stewart’s last X-Men film too. Both men have deserved a rest for performing their roles spectacularly. Indeed, film and literature are for many an escape from reality and their performances have kept audiences captivated and entertained. You learn a lot about morality from superhero films. I think both characters should be retired for a while as the pressure of following Jackman and Stewart would be too great, and then Marvel can have a long hard think about who to replace them. I had this discussion with a friend about Wolverine and no-one immediately comes to mind as an ideal replacement. I suggested Keanu Reeves after a while and she suggested Liam Hemsworth. I can’t think of anyone to replace Stewart. What do you think? Let me know by commenting below or on any of the links I provide.
