Joey Barton thinks N’Golo Kante is overrated as he has not proven himself in the Champions League.
Barton is talking crap, basically. This is the guy who described Neymar as “cat piss”. Kante may not have proven himself in the Champions League, but he’s never played in it. You can’t prove yourself at a level you’ve never had the opportunity to prove yourself at.
Kante has come across plenty of opponents that are Champions League teams and dominated them. A couple of years ago, I started thinking Makelele was a one off, then Kante came along.
I suppose technically, Ronaldo never really proved himself in the Champions League due to injuries and the timing of his spells at clubs. Still he’s one of the genuine legends of the game.
Besides, Joey, you’ve never proved yourself for England. You were anonymous in those 20 minutes against Spain at Old Trafford in February 2007.
I was listening to “Creep” by Radiohead.
In a live show, an audience member told Thom Yorke “you are” after the lyrics “I wish I was special”. He is a tremendous guy. Fantastic artist. Don’t agree with his opinions politically some of the time, but he’s a great guy from what I have seen.
Creep is a lyrical masterpiece, with a good story and good tune. But it’s so depressing, there’s no surprise Radiohead go several years at a time without playing it.
Imagine everyone having fun and then Creep starts playing. Outside by Staind is a close second but at least by the end, the vocalist still has hope. “I think tomorrow will be ok”. Creep, just doesn’t have that.
I also can’t find an interview. I need a Newcastle fan by Friday and a media/BBC person by Thursday, if any of my readers can find someone, I will love you forever, more than I already do.
If anyone ever needs me for anything by the way, I will try my best to respond.
