I actually have no idea what to write about.

Today was a rather boring day. I came in revised, did my lessons and now I’m writing an article.

Today is Sutton v Arsenal. A few people have said Wenger should be sacked if Arsenal are knocked out, I disagree. For the reasons I have discussed previously, replacing Wenger would be really difficult. It would be made worse sacking him mid-season. Arsenal are out of all three cups and unlikely to win the league. Sacking him now may jeopardise Champions League qualification, due to the time it takes his replacement to stamp his authority. If Wenger goes, it has to be at the end of the season.

Secondly, the fallout from the comments made by Paul Nuttall continues. Now, we would be kidding ourselves by claiming Nuttall is the first politician to lie to make sound like one of the general public.

However, Nuttall has gone way further than the most. His lies seems pathological and the result from the Stoke Central by-election should he win could be detrimental to British politics, he may continue to lie in Commons debates. Sure, he may claim the claims were written by aides, but it is under his name, it is his responsibility to make sure they are correct, he is an adult, not a child. These are not the actions of a competent politician.

Lastly, Mark Clattenburg looks set to stay a Premier League referee till the end of the season. The consensus seems to be that he would be a loss to the league. But there needs to be more help to the referees still in the league. Referees need to helped by technology. I just don’t buy this claim that technology will slow down the game. Goal line technology hasn’t and other sports have embraced it without much problem.
