Simón Bolívar comes across as an absolute legend.

Bolivar founded Venezuela, Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Panama as sovereign states, being the President of Venezuela, Bolivia, Gran Colombia and Peru.

I asked my Peruvian friend about him. She says the phrases she thinks when she hears his name are “Liberator, the Battle of Junin and Hero”. Bolivia and Venezuela name their currencies after him. He seems to be like Che Guevera — without the psychopathic tendencies. And he, you know, was a fan of democracy.

I can imagine the Spanish King reading memo’s about him and thinking “Not him again”. From what it seems, I’d rank Bolivar with Mustafa Kemal Ataturk and Lee Kuan Yew as the three greatest politicians of time. I’d rank him second behind Ataturk, who he shares more in common with than Lee. I might do a feature on the three men, I’m very interested in learning more about Bolivar.

So much for the magic of the FA Cup, then. The semi-finalists are the current top 4 in the Premier League. After all the giant killings, the tournament managed to correct itself. This year big teams have continued playing weakened sides, the replays have been scrapped for the 6th round and semi-finals are still played at Wembley. The runner-up doesn’t get Europa League. The FA Cup is being taken less and less seriously.

I’m rather worried that my friend is being catfished. He has a tinder date, without a bio, Facebook account and with one grainy Instagram profile pic. I’m 99% certain something dodgy is going to happen. I suggested one of us comes along for security, but he fears we would come for some sort of third wheeling (technical term too inappropriate). If you’re reading this now mate, I’ve seen this before and it ain’t pretty. Although, the last time I did all I could to help my friend. Sometimes, you just can’t stop people.
